Lightning Fires Update on the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest
Everett, Washington: September 11, 2025— Firefighters have made good progress on suppressing wildfires from the recent thunderstorms across the forest. There is currently one active fire and two contained fires since the previous update.
Darrington Ranger District
Red Mountain Fire - The fire remains at 58 acres. Firefighters are utilizing helicopter water drops to reduce fire activity in steep, inaccessible terrain.
An official closure remains in place for this fire for public safety. The following recreational sites are impacted by the closure order:
- Bald Eagle Trailhead and Bald Eagle (Curry Gap) Trail 650
- Sloan Peak Trailhead and Sloan Peak Trail #648
- North Fork Sauk Trailhead and North Fork Sauk Trail #649
- Red Mountain Trail #651
- Pilot Ridge Trail #652
- Johnson Mountain Trail #652-2

Snoqualmie Ranger District
Twin Fire – This fire was kept to 0.1 acres and is 100% contained.
Minnehaha Fire – Firefighters kept this fire to 2 acres, and it is now 100% contained. Firefighters will continue to monitor throughout the weekend.
