Just for Kids

Hey 4th Graders!

The Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest encourages you to get an Every Kid Outdoors pass—giving you and your families’ free access to trails, forests, and parks that would normally charge a fee.

Every Kid Outdoors enables fourth graders and their families to discover America’s natural wonders and historic sites for free. With your Every Kid Outdoors pass, you’ll have free access over 2,000 federal lands and waters nationwide.  These sites belong to all of us – including you.

How do I get my Every Kid Outdoors Pass?

4th grade students can complete an online adventure to get their Every Kid Outdoors pass. Once the activity is completed, you can print your paper pass, and exchange it for a plastic card on your next visit to public lands. Parents and guardians - use the trip planning tool to prepare for your next adventure.

Every Kid Outdoors passes are also available at the Outdoor Recreation Information Station in Seattle.

4th grade educators - you can download activities and print passes for your students, too!

For more information on the Every Kid Outdoors program, informational brochures are available in English and Spanish

Our Work with Every Kid Outdoors

Natural Inquirer S.T.E.M. Collector Cards

Natural Inquirer is a free science education journal written for middle through high school age students. In 1998, Natural Inquirer was created so that scientists could share their research with students. Each article follows the same format as a scientific journal article by including an Introduction, Methods, Findings, and Discussion section. Additionally, each article has a Meet the Scientist section, Thinking About Science section, Thinking About the Environment section, and a FACTivity. The FACTivity is a hands-on activity that reinforces a concept from the article. All articles are correlated to National Education Standards.
