  • Health and Safety Closure Due to Roadside Danger Trees

    The following acts are prohibited upon the National Forest System Roads described below. This Order renews Order 06-06-06-00-23-01, and will be effective beginning on June 26, 2024 and ending June 26, 2025. 

    PROHIBITIONS

    • Using any type of motor vehicle upon the following NFS Roads as described [36 CFR 261.54(a)]:
      • NFS Road 4500000 (Memaloose Road) from the bridge at highway 224 to the junction with NFS Road 4500310.
      • NFS Road 5400000 from the highway 224 junction (at the bridge gate) to NFS Road 5410000.

Forest Order

Pursuant to 16 USC § 551 and 36 CFR § 261.50 (a) and (b), and to provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited upon the National Forest System Roads described below and shown in Exhibit A. This Order renews Order 06- 06-06-00-23-01, and will be effective beginning on June 26, 2024 and ending June 26, 2025. 

PROHIBITIONS: 

  1. Using any type of motor vehicle upon the following NFS Roads as described [36 CFR 261.54(a)]:
    • NFS Road 4500000 (Memaloose Road) from the bridge at highway 224 to the junction with NFS Road 4500310.
    • NFS Road 5400000 from the highway 224 junction (at the bridge gate) to NFS Road 5410000. 

Road closures are depicted in the attached maps (Exhibit A). 

EXEMPTIONS: 

Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:

  1. Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
  2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of any organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
  3. Persons using the road without a motorized vehicle (i.e., on foot, horseback, or non- motorized bicycle). 

Violations of this prohibition is punishable as a Class B Misdemeanor, by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than 6 months, or both (16 USC § 551; and 18USC § 3571).
