Upper Clackamas River Campground Redesign Community Engagement Event
We're seeking community input for the Upper Clackamas River Campground Redesign. This is your chance to share your thoughts on campgrounds including Indian Henry, Fish Creek, Lazy Bend, Carter Bridge, Lockaby, Roaring River and Sunstrip.
The Forest Service has been partnering with the National Forest Foundation and RANGE, a Portland-based landscape architecture firm, to redesign seven campgrounds along the Upper Clackamas River.
The designs shared at these community engagement events identify opportunities to reconfigure and modernize recreation sites to meet growing demand while also providing high-quality and sustainable recreation opportunities into the future. The site’s changed conditions are fully considered in the proposed designs and ensure protection of the scenic, natural, and cultural resources. Additionally, development will retain the natural and rustic character our visitors expect on Forest Service lands while also providing a welcoming and safe environment for a wide spectrum of users and families.
We want your input! Join RANGE at one of the upcoming community engagement events to help shape the future of recreation on the Upper Clackamas River. Learn about the project goals, review proposed designs, and share your thoughts.
Let’s shape the future of these special places — together.
