Jefferson Ridge Trailhead

Current Conditions
The Jefferson Ridge Trail is open, but the Jefferson Ridge Trailhead is not accessible by vehicle. FS-2421 is currently inaccessible approximately 1.5 miles from the 2480 junction due to road damage. Hikers can park near Lower Elk Lake Trail #805 and walk the road up to Jefferson Ridge Trail. High clearance is required to make it over the large water bars on the 2451 road.

Directions

From Hoodsport, WA travel north for 14 miles on Highway 101 to Forest Service Road 25 (Hamma Hamma Recreation Area). Turn west on Forest Service Road 25 and travel 6.5 miles to the junction of the Forest Service Road 2480 and turn left. Drive a short distance after you cross the Hamma Hamma River to Forest Service Road 2421. Turn on to 2421 and drive 2.5 miles to trailhead.

Forest Service Road 2421 is very steep and rocky. Good tires are recommended.
