Campsite limitations
Specific Camping prohibitions
1. Camping for more than 14 days in developed and dispersed areas. Camping in any
location is limited to 14 consecutive days. On the 14th consecutive day, the camper and
party must leave that area/campground for a minimum of seven days before returning for
another stay. If camping in general forest areas outside of developed recreation areas
("dispersed camping"), on the 14th consecutive day the camper and party must move to
another location at least ten miles in any direction for a minimum of 7 days before
returning for another stay in the previous location. 36 CFR 261.58(a)
2. Using a single campsite by more than (5) persons or a double campsite by more than (10)
persons in a developed recreation area. 36 CFR 261.58(f)
3. Possessing, parking, or leaving more than two (2) vehicles, except motorcycles or
bicycles per single campsite or more than four (4) vehicles, except motorcycles or
bicycles per double campsite. 36 CFR 261.SS(i)
4. Entering or remaining in a campground from 10:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M., except for persons
camping in such campgrounds. 36 CFR 261.SS(c)

Forest Order
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 CFR 261.50 (a), the following acts are prohibited on all lands administrated by the Cherokee National Forest (shown on the attached map). This order is in effect until a period of five years from the date executed or until terminated by an authorized Forest Service official, whichever occurs first.
