Carver's Gap
Explore the high mountain balds from this gap at Roan Mountain. Step onto the Appalachian National Scenic Trail from this site or continue a short distance up the mountain and across the state line into North Carolina and the Rhododendron Gardens area.
General Information
The vault toilet is open for the season. Carver's Gap proper (parking area, Appalachian Trai) is open year-round, but snow and ice is possible during the Fall, Winter, and Spring months due to the elevation.
Please follow Leave No Trace principles, and pack out all trash.
