Horse Creek Recreation Area
Horse Creek Recreation Area is located eight miles from Greeneville, off TN 107 north. This recreation area is nestled into a hardwood cove beside its namesake, Horse Creek.
There are facilities for camping and day-use activities including hiking, fishing, picnicking and swimming. During the 1930’s, a rustic picnic pavilion and swimming area were constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Company 1455, Camp Cordell Hull, stationed in Unicoi, TN.

General Information
- Horse Creek Recreation Area is open for day use but the campground portion is closed for season October 2024
- The pavilion has been closed indefintely due to damages. We apologize for the incovenience.
- Camping and picnicking are on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Group size is 5 people, 2 vehicles per site.
- No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the area.
- Food storage restrictions apply at all areas on the Cherokee National Forest. All food and beverages must be stored in an approved bear-proof container, your locked vehicle or hard-sided camper at all times unless being eaten, prepared, or transported.
- Camping fee is $10 per night.
- Recreation.gov either online or call 1-877-444-6777.
- No fee for Day Use.

Directions
From Greeneville, take TN 107 north for six miles. Turn right at Horse Creek Road and follow the signs about two miles to the recreation area.
