Troy Morris named Deputy Forest Supervisor of George Washington and Jefferson National Forests

Roanoke, VA, December 12, 2024 — The George Washington and Jefferson National Forests will have a new Deputy Forest Supervisor starting December 15, 2024. Troy Morris is a 20-year career professional in integrated natural and cultural resources management. He currently serves as the Staff Officer on forest over seeing timber and natural resources. Morris holds a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from the University of Tennessee and an M.S. in Forest Management from the University of Arkansas. In 2024, he was selected from a nationwide pool of applicants for the Forest Service’s prestigious Senior Leader Program.
Forest Supervisor Job Timm stated, “The Deputy Forest Supervisor has wide management and budget responsibilities. I know Troy will continue both inspiring our employees and making positive progress toward our program of work.”
