Bolar Flat Marina

This marina on the northern end of Lake Moomaw is a local hub of activity where visitors come to launch their boats on Lake Moomaw.

General Information

Boat launch open year round. Marina open Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day Weekend

No fishing or swimming from dock. Boats must be less than 25 feet in length.  No camping on boats or in dry storage. When recreating on Forest Service Lands, follow the safety and outdoor ethics recommendations. 

$5 per vehicle Day Use fee. 

Please, keep your pet on a leash when in a recreation area or campground. The law requires dog owners to keep their dog on a leash with a length no greater than 6 feet and under physical control when within a recreational area, such as a campground or day use area (36 CFR 2616(j)).

Getting There

Directions

From the Intersection of State Route 39 and US 220: Follow SR 39 west for 10.5 miles to SR 600. Turn left on SR 600 and follow it about 7 miles past the intersection with Twin Ridge Drive. SR 600 bears left and becomes SR 603. Continue about 0.7 mile to the entrance drive on the right.

Restrooms with flush toilets are available only when the site is open for the season.

Fishing - Lake & Pond Info

Lake and Pond Fishing

Anglers here fish for Steelhead, Brown and Rainbow Trout, Bass, Catfish, and Panfish. 

Types of fishing available include: shore, motorized boat, fly, spin, and bait.

This site can be accessed by passenger car and ADA accessible fishing access is available from the fishing pier and boat launch.
