Hawk Recreation Area
Hawk Campground has 15 campsites and sits nestled in the Alleghany Mountains surround by a spectacular nature setting. Experience an exciting hiking experience with easy access to the Tuscarora Trail right from the campground. In the fall, this inviting location offers hunters a secluded environment to stay overnight. Fall asleep to the mellow sounds of the trees gently swaying overhead and the simple harmony of nearby crickets.

Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
The America the Beautiful Interagency Pass series and the George Washington & Jefferson National Forests Seasonal Day Use Pass are accepted here. The Virginia State Parks pass does not apply on the National Forest.
Alcoholic beverages prohibited. When recreating on Forest Service Lands, follow the safety and outdoor ethics recommendations.
No Fees are required for this site.
Please, keep your pet on a leash when in a recreation area or campground. The law requires dog owners to keep their dog on a leash with a length no greater than 6 feet and under physical control when within a recreational area, such as a campground or day use area (36 CFR 2616(j)).

Directions
From I-81: Take exit 296 and turn west on VA 55. Drive 14.5 miles and cross into West Virginia at top of mountain (VA 55 becomes WV 55). Descend for 1.0 mile and make a sharp right turn onto Forest Road 502 (gravel road). After 2.7 miles, turn left onto Forest Road 347. Camp entrance is on the right.
