Hone Quarry Campground

Hone Quarry Campground is within one mile of Hone Quarry Reservoir. Nearby trailheads lead to popular rock climbing areas. Highlights of the campground include a picturesque stream, a hike to a nearby 15-foot waterfall and an adjacent group picnic shelter that is non-fee and is available first-come first-served.

Open year round

Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

The America the Beautiful Interagency Pass series and the George Washington & Jefferson National Forests Seasonal Day Use Pass are accepted here and cover day use fees. The America the Beautiful Senior and Access Passes provide a 50% discount to the base campsite fee (not hook ups) and day use fees. 

Campsites are limited to one RV or two tents, no more than two vehicles, and no more than eight persons per site. When recreating on Forest Service Lands, follow the safety and outdoor ethics recommendations. 

Overnight Use:Single Site: $5/night.
Please be prepared to pay with CASH or CHECK.

Camping: $5.00 per site per night.

Please, keep your pet on a leash when in a recreation area or campground. The law requires dog owners to keep their dog on a leash with a length no greater than 6 feet and under physical control when within a recreational area, such as a campground or day use area (36 CFR 2616(j)).

Directions

From Harrisonburg, VA: Take U.S. 42 South for approximately 3 miles to the intersection with State Route (S.R.) 257 at Dayton. Turn right off U.S. 42 onto S.R. 257 (west) and proceed until you reach a stop sign. Turn left still on S.R. 257 to Briery Branch. In Briery Branch, turn right still on S.R. 257 and follow to the intersection of S.R. 257 and Forest Development Road (FDR) 62. Turn right onto FDR 62 and follow 1.7 miles to the Hone Quarry Campground.
