Roaring Run Day Use Area

Roaring Run is a popular get-away for escaping the summer heat. It features shady picnic spots, a native trout stream and a 1 ½ -mile scenic loop trail that follows Roaring Run Creek to a cascading waterfall. History buffs will enjoy seeing the historic iron furnace that operated prior to the Civil War.

When recreating on Forest Service Lands, follow the safety and outdoor ethics recommendations. 

No Fees are required for this site.

Please, keep your pet on a leash. The law requires dog owners to keep their dog on a leash with a length no greater than 6 feet and under physical control when within a recreational area, such as a campground or day use area (36 CFR 2616(j)).

Location:

From I-81: Take Exit 150 to SR 220 North. Travel 21 miles, past Eagle Rock. Turn left on Craig Creek Rd (SR 615) and go 5.5 miles. Take a right on Roaring Run Road (SR 621) and go 1 mile. Roaring Run entrance is on the left.
