Shaws Fork Campground

This campground provides access to trailheads and is popular among hunters. This site is also near the historic Civil War battlefield in McDowell, VA.

Open Season: Early-April to Mid-December, Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m

When recreating on Forest Service Lands, follow the safety and outdoor ethics recommendations. 

No Fees are required for this site.

No Fee

Please, keep your pet on a leash when in a recreation area or campground. The law requires dog owners to keep their dog on a leash with a length no greater than 6 feet and under physical control when within a recreational area, such as a campground or day use area (36 CFR 2616(j)).

Directions

From Staunton, VA: Follow U.S. 250 west to Churchville. Continue west on U.S. 250 for 20 miles past Churchville and turn left onto State Route (S.R.) 616. Shaws Fork Equestrian Campground is located 1.0 miles on the left.
