Blue Suck Run Trail (Forest Trail #666)
Blue Suck Run Trail is an easy hike with numerous stream crossings. It begins at the southern gate in Longdale Recreation Area and follows Blue Suck Branch, upstream to the intersection of Forest Road 271A. The trail is an old roadbed with a grassy tread that gains altitude as it approaches 271A. Once past the first stream crossing, there are steep ridges on either side of the trail. Note: during the spring when the water is up, it may be difficult to cross without getting wet. There are signs of wildlife and a wide variety of wildflowers along the trail. The rhododendron is thick in places along the stream, offering a spectacular springtime show.
