The National Forests and Grasslands in Texas (NFGT) offer endless opportunities for outdoor recreation, from hiking and camping to fishing and wildlife viewing. Whether you're exploring the trails on the Caddo/Lyndon B. Johnson National Grasslands, the Multi-Use Trail on the Sam Houston National Forest or enjoying the waters of Lake Sam Rayburn, there's something for everyone.
Before you visit, be sure to explore the various passes available to our visitors, including day-use and annual and lifetime senior passes, to make the most of your outdoor experience.

National Forests and Grasslands in Texas Passes
The annual trail pass provides easy admittance to the Sam Houston National Forest Multiple-Use Trail.
The $25 annual pass is good for one year from date of purchase and is available at the following location:

If your recreation plans include visits to the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas, the Kisatchie National Forest in Louisiana, or nearby Army Corps of Engineers Sites, then the NFGT Annual Day-Use Pass may be the right choice for you.
The pass costs $30 and entitles you to unlimited day use in participating fee areas forest-wide for one year from month of issue.
Recreation day-use fee areas in the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas (NFGT) include picnic areas, swim beaches, and boat launches.
- Interagency Senior Pass and Interagency Access Pass holders are eligible for a 50% discount towards ONE of the National Forest and Grasslands in Texas Annual Day-Use Pass.
This pass can be used at the areas listed here:
- Angelina National Forest: Boykin Springs and Caney Creek and Townsend Park
- Sam Houston National Forest: Cagle, Double Lake and Scott’s Ridge
- Caddo-LBJ National Grasslands: Black Creek Lake, East Coffeemill ,Lake East and Lake Crockett
- Kisatchie National Forest: Caney Lakes, Kincaid and Stuart Lake
- Davy Crockett National Forest: Ratcliff Lake
Sabine National Forest: East Hamilton Boat Ramp, Haley’s Ferry, Indian Mounds, Ragtown Recreation Area and Red Hills Lake
- U.S. Army Corps of Engineers: Sam Rayburn Reservoir Ebenezer Park, Hanks Creek, Mill Creek, Rayburn Park, San Augustine Park and Twin Dikes
- Town Bluff Reservoir, Campers Cove Park, Magnolia Ridge and Sandy Creek

- The Interagency Annual Pass ($80) is only accepted at Boykin Springs Recreation area (Standard Amenity Site) located on the Angelina National Forest at this time.
- Please note some expanded amenity fee discounts apply to Interagency Senior Passes (annual and lifetime) and Interagency Pass holders.
- Developed Boat Launches and Swimming Sites: The 50% discount applies.
