Forest Order
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(b), and to provide for public safety, the following acts are prohibited in the Doniphan Eleven Point Ranger District within the Mark Twain National Forest. This Order is effective from June 16, 2025 through June 16, 2028.
- Being on the Trail: 36 CFR 261.55(a), as shown in Exhibit A and described below:
- Forest Trail 266137 (Blue Ridge Horse Trail), Doniphan – Eleven Point Ranger District, Mark Twain National Forest beginning 2.5 miles from the Blue Ridge Horse Trail trailhead located in the NE ¼ of Section 03, Township 25 North, Range 4 West, for approximately 3 miles ending at the intersection of the Blue Ridge Horse Trail and Forest Road 3238, in the SW ¼ of Section 06, Township 25 North, Range 4 West.
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
- Any Federal, State or Local Officer or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
- Persons with a U.S. Forest Service contract, special use permit, or partnership agreement authorizing work on the closed trails, and their employees, sub-contractors, and agents, are exempt from the prohibitions listed above to the extent necessary to perform the authorized work.
These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 C.F.R. Part 261, Subpart A.
A violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for and individual or $10,000 for an organization or imprisonment for not more than six months or both. 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 18 U.S.C. § 3559, 3571 and 3581
