Unpaved Forest Roads
Attention Hunters and other Forest Visitors - Recent rain events have caused unpaved Forest Roads and road shoulders to be soft and have muddy conditions.
- Drive carefully and don’t venture off roads.
- Be sure your vehicle can handle the road conditions you may encounter.
- Familiar roads could have poor road conditions since the last time you traveled it; for instance, heavy rains may have caused potholes, road washouts, slick spots or soft edges.
- Remember motorists can be fined if they are causing resource damage, such as creating ruts on road shoulders or elsewhere.
- Find a solid place to park where your vehicle is not blocking ingress/egress of the area. This may mean you have to park and walk in farther but is necessary to ensure visitor safety.
- Be aware, it is the motorists’ responsibility to call a tow truck if your vehicle gets stuck. Forest Service personnel cannot pull-out stuck vehicles.
