Abstract:
This data publication contains an update for the 2006 Continental United States (CONUS) and Alaska to the first continental forest stand age map of North America. A new map for 2011 covering Alaska, CONUS and Canada has been produced. It was made by combining forest inventory data, historical fire data, optical satellite data and other disturbance/forest change products that have become available after the original product was published. A companion map of the standard deviations for age estimates, developed for quantifying uncertainty, is also included.
