Abstract:
This data publication includes earlywood, latewood, and whole ring width measurements (1866-2016) of northern red oak (Quercus rubra L.) increment cores collected from 11 plots across western valleys of Vermont. Tree cores were collected from 213 trees in 2015-2016 for a total of 430 cores. This data package includes a separate file for each of the earlywood, latewood, and whole ring measurements as well as files containing additional plot details (e.g., location and elevation) and information for trees measured (e.g., diameter at breast height and whether tree is dominant or codominant).
