Delays for Lightning Creek Road 244 During Road Work
Beginning Wednesday, September 10, motorists and forest visitors using FSR 244 (Lightning Creek) from McComas Meadows to China Point will see intermittent closures of up to four hours during culvert installation and road maintenance.

3-hour delays on Pierce-Superior Road 250 between Bungalow Ranger Sta. & Kelly Forks Work Center
Up to 3-hour weekday delays on National Forest System Road 250 (Pierce-Superior) are beginning on September 4 for rock crushing and road reconstruction projects between the Bungalow Ranger Station Historic Site and the Kelly Forks Work Center.

Slide impacting travel on 250 road in North Fork; Road work Begins June 23'd
A slide at Black Canyon is currently impacting travel on the North Fork of the Clearwater, located 2.7 miles downstream from hidden creek. Only high clearance vehicles will be able to travel through the slide. For all other vehicles use the 255 road as a detour to bypass the slide.

Laird Park Water Unavailable For 2025 Season
Forest Service staff have labored diligently to ensure potable water is available for campers at Laird Park this season. Unfortunately, water system tests have come back negatively and the water is not up to our safety standards.

Timber Sale Beginning Near Musselshell Meadows: Expect Travel Delays and Road Closures
In late May/Early June, the Thin Mussel Timber Sale will begin. For Forest visitors traveling to the area, road reconstruction, and log hauling will occur on the 505, 505b, 505C, 5049, 5150, 5150-A, 5150-B, 5150-C, 5150-d, 73031, and 73032 Roads.
