There are a variety of online sources of wildfire information on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests.

InciWeb

InciWeb is a national site for incidents such as fires, floods, and other events that the Forest Service responds to. Significant wildfires on the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests receive their own page on InciWeb, which the public can monitor for incident updates, photos, closures, evacuations, etc. The following area wildfires are currently listed on InciWeb:

News Releases & Fire Updates

 

During fire season, the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests publishes a daily Fire Update News Release, if activity warrants, which are posted below and on the News & Events page.

Fire Closure Orders

During fire season, the Forest Supervisor may sign an official closure order - a document which officially closes roads, trails, and other defined areas within the National Forest - due to fire activity for public safety and other reasons. They can be found on our Alerts/Forest Orders page and are listed below by district. Some closures may cross over into multiple forest districts. If you need assistance or have questions about a forest closure order, feel free to contact your local ranger district or forest office.

Idaho County Residents

The Idaho County Sheriff’s office has directed people to go to their Facebook page for evacuation information.

Clearwater County Residents

Clearwater County posts evacuation information in the form of a news release to their Homepage.

Reservations for Campgrounds, Cabins, Lookouts, and Power Boats

If your reservation through Recreation.gov is affected, in any way, by wildfire activity - whether there has been a closure, a cancellation by Recreation.gov, or a personal concern - please visit the following pages on Recreation.gov for help, or call toll free 1-877-444-6777.
