Passes & Permits

For the safety of the public and forest service employees, offices remain closed to the public during the COVID-19 pandemic. The public is encouraged to contact their local Black Hills National Forest District Office for instructions on obtaining permits.

The Black Hills National Forest is open, free of charge, for your use and enjoyment. Fees may be charged and permits required for some activities and locations, including camping and parking fees.
