Timber Program Overview
The Timber Management goal on the forest is to maintain tree stands in a manner that promotes and achieves a diverse pattern of vegetation that best meets the needs of people now and in the future. Specific objectives for managing the forest resource of National Forest System lands are:

- To provide a continuous supply of National Forest System timber for the use and necessities of the citizens of the United States.
- To provide an even flow of National Forest System timber in order to facilitate the stabilization of communities and opportunities for employment.
- To manage and provide for regeneration of tree stands.
- To maintain a diversity of forest vegetation types and resources consistent with forest plans.
- To plan and conduct cost-effective timber sales and other timber management activities.
- To restore and maintain healthy forest conditions through the reduction of hazardous fuels.
