  • Gifford Pinchot National Forest Headquarters: (360) 891-5000; Phone calls only.
  • Cowlitz Valley Ranger District: (360) 497-1100; Walk up window service open for forest product permits only. Please wear a mask.
  • Mt. Adams Ranger District: (509) 395-3402; Walk up window service for all sales,Monday – Saturday through September 8am-4:30pm and weekdays thereafter. Please wear a mask.
  • Mount St. Helens info: (360) 690-5231. For forest product permits call (360) 449-7800, payments are taken over the phone and permits are mailed same or next day.
  • Johnston Ridge Observatory: (360) 274-2140; Open 10 am to 6 pm, seven days a week. Only a small portion of the lobby is open for sales. Masks required.
  • Pine Creek Information Center: Open Thursday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. Pine Creek sells maps & souvenirs. Masks required.

Located in southwest Washington, the Gifford Pinchot National Forest encompasses 1,368,300 acres of forests, mountains, river valleys, waterfalls, wildernesses, and volcanoes. The forest has three main geographic areas to visit including Cowlitz Valley Ranger District, Mount Adams Ranger District, and Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument & District.
