Working Together

Trail crews working on the John Muir Trail

Join us for rewarding work with great people in the tremendous landscape of the Eastern Sierra. The Inyo National Forest and its partners will teach you, challenge you, and give you a memorable experience.

The Inyo National Forest continues to work side-by-side with other federal agencies, state and local governments, communities and individuals, tribes, nonprofits, corporations, and other organizations to build a collaborative relationship to meet the mission of the Agency.

Tribal Relations

The Forest encompasses the traditional homelands, gathering areas, trading destinations, and sacred sites for several federally recognized and non-federally recognized Paiute and Shoshone tribes. The Inyo National Forest regularly consults with several Native American communities on federal policies, undertakings, and other activities that may affect tribal interests.
