Current Conditions
Many roads within Inyo National Forest are maintained by local county road departments. If a Forest Road is closed, it is listed below. If not listed, it's open. If a road is closed due to snow, you may not drive on it with your vehicle, but you may recreate via hiking, cross-country skiing, etc.
- Saddlebag Lake Road
- Bohler Canyon Road (1N106) is not closed, however it has a major washout and may not be passable. Please use caution.

- Lake Mary Road/Lakes Basin area is closed to vehicular traffic, however open to pedestrian use as of 4/25/25
- Reds Meadow Road is closed to vehicles, but open for winter recreationists such as cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. More info visit: Reds Meadow Road Reconstruction Project.
- Please check Mono County Public Works - Roads for more information on other roads leading into the forest.
- Rock Creek Road at Rock Creek Pack Station
- The majority of Rock Creek Road is open, however access to Mosquito Flat/Little Lakes Trailhead and access to Rock Creek Lake not possible by vehicle. Parking available at Hilton Lakes Trailhead.

- The upper/top portions of Rock Creek and White Mountain roads cross over into Mono County jurisdiction. Pease check there: Mono County Public Works - Roads
- Horseshoe Meadows Road is open to the locked and closed Forest Service gate approximately 1 mile from the trailheads and campgrounds. The gate will open once the snow melts and the soil dries.

Rules and tips:
- When parking near a road closure do not park on the roadway, do not block the gate or other cars.
- For winter travel you are required to carry chains.
- It is a good practice to have some sand (for traction) and a shovel in case you need to dig your car out.
- To prevent damage to roadways do not drive on dirt roads that are covered with snow, or have deep mud.
- Do not drive around road obstacles such as mud puddles and crush vegetation, this will widen the road and cause erosion.
