Founded in 1986, Friends of the Inyo is a Bishop, CA based non-profit conservation organization dedicated to the preservation, exploration and stewardship of the region's public lands, made possible through member support, grant funding and federal agency partnerships. Friends of the Inyo host a variety of service trips to protect and restore wilderness and front-country areas on the Inyo National Forest. The Mammoth Basin Nordic Backcountry Patrol is a non-profit organization that helps provide a safe, quality experience to the wintering public in and around Mammoth Lakes California. As members of the National Ski Patrol, we take great pride in our commitment to public service and we place strong emphasis on safety awareness, as well as encouraging responsible environment usage. Our Patrollers are able to provide on-the-spot medical skills to those injured, lost or suffering from the winter environment. Golden Trout Project

Trout Unlimited (TU), California Trout (CalTrout) and the Federation of Flyfishers (FFF) are assisting the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) and the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) in a collaborative effort to protect and restore the California Golden Trout in the Inyo National Forest.
