Projects

As part of carrying out the mission of the Forest Service, agency resource specialists develop environmental analysis and documentation, pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and agency direction.

Schedule of Proposed Actions (SOPA)

The Schedule of Proposed Actions (SOPA) is published quarterly for each National Forest. It contains a list of proposed actions that will soon begin or are currently undergoing environmental analysis and documentation. It provides information so the public is aware of forest activities. The Alaska Region encourages early and ongoing involvement in any proposals of interest to you. Select the forest, which interests you for more detailed information.

Alaska Region Pre-Decisional Objections

This site contains information about the Alaska Region’s Pre-Decisional Objections. Objections are written documents submitted by an individual or organization seeking a pre-decisional administrative review of a proposed project or activity implementing a land and resource management plan documented with a Record of Decision (ROD) or Decision Notice (DN) under 36 CFR Part 218, or the proposed approval of a land and resource management plan, plan amendment, or plan revision under 36 CFR Part 219, Subpart B. The public may file objections after an environmental assessment or final environmental impact statement is completed and before a final decision document (ROD or DN) is signed.
