SOPA Reports
The Schedule of Proposed Actions (SOPA) contains a list of proposed
actions for Los Padres National Forest that will soon begin or are currently undergoing environmental
analysis and documentation. It provides information so that you can become
aware of and indicate your interest in specific proposals. We encourage your
early and ongoing involvement in any proposals of interest to you.
Carbon California is requesting to drill 8 oil and gas wells at 4 existing well pads, installation of 7,960 feet of new pipeline, a 400 barrel emergency tank, a transfer pump, three pressure vessels, and 2 master headers in the Sespe Oil Field.
Renewal of expired water system permit - Special Use Permit to include: spring diversion at Hilton Spring, waterline, 2 water storage tanks, water treatment facility and access road to tank and treatment facility.

Improve resource conditions and protect the Cuesta Botanical Special Interest Area on West Cuesta Ridge by providing sustainable managed recreation activities consistent with Los Padres LMP, to include designating 10 mountain bike trails.
This project will bolster campground crossing safety and provide aquatic organism passage by adding two bridges. During high flows four concrete crossings within the campground are dangerous for pedestrians and vehicles due to their smooth surfaces.
The project is designed to increase community/infrastructure protection and wildfire containment opportunities by establishing fuelbreaks, defense zones, and improve vegetation resilience and the health of forested areas from environmental stressors.
