Spruce Lake

Spruce Lake is a beautiful pristine sub-alpine 6-acre lake dominate on three sides by the rock walls of Ruby Mountain and Ridge. Fishing is reportedly good for cutthroat and brook trout. The Sub-alpine Fir and the Engelmann Spruce are the predominate trees around this lake. The lake lies in one of the Huckleberry picking corridors in Boundary County.

Directions

Access #1:

  • Travel north on US 95 from Bonners Ferry Ranger District Office for 33 miles
  • Turn right on Copper Falls Road #2517
  • Continue until you reach Road #2509
  • Follow Road #2509 to the trailhead

Access #2:

  • Travel north on US 95 from Bonners Ferry Ranger District Office
  • Turn right on US 2 and continue 7 miles
  • Turn left on Old Highway Loop Road
  • Turn left onto Deer Creek Road #435
  • Continue to Road #403
  • Follow Road #403 to Road #2509
  • Continue for 2 miles to trailhead
