The forest completed its Five Year Action Planning process for integrated vegetation and fuels management projects. The effort was an eight-month long collaborative approach that included participation by members of local collaborative groups, local government, and tribal representatives. 

The group collectively updated the current filters, landscape screen and evaluation criteria, which helps guide vegetation and fuel management project selection on the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. In addition to identifying priority landscapes on the forest, this process also provides better understanding of the varying perspectives the forest must balance when identifying out-year projects.
