Shearer Guard Station Fuels Reduction
The purpose of the project is to reduce fuel loadings in the stands surrounding Shearer Guard Station. Treating the area surrounding the guard station would reduce the costs and resource needs to protect the historic structures from wildfires. Shearer Guard Station is a historically valuable administrative site located on the Selway River approximately 16 miles upstream from Moose Creek Ranger Station approximately 35 miles west of Hamilton, Montana and 75 miles east of Grangeville, Idaho and is entirely on Nez Perce National Forest Lands in Idaho County, Idaho.
