Nugget System

The Nugget Trail System is a small isolated section of trails but they provide a spectacular views of the Black Hills.  There is no trailhead that services these trails.  Access is best from Hill City and Highway 385.  Travel east on Highway 385 for 1.3 miles, then turn north (left) on China Gulch Road (Forest Road 249).  Continue north on China Gulch Road for 8 miles.  The trails will be on both sides of Forest Road 249.  These trails are open May - December 15.
