Parks Ranger District to host annual Christmas open house

The community event will be held at the Walden office, featuring Christmas tree sales and food.

(WALDEN, Colo.)  – The community is invited to a Christmas open house at the Parks Ranger District on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. The USDA Forest Service will host the event at the District office building, 100 Main St. in Walden, Colo., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be Christmas crafts for all ages, a baked potato bar for anyone who is hungry, and a limited selection of pre-cut Christmas trees. The trees will be available for purchase with a $10 permit for those unable to get into the woods and harvest their own. All sales during the Christmas event will be cash or check only.

For those able to visit the Forest to harvest their own Christmas tree, permits will be for sale during the event.

To buy firewood permits online, visit the E-Permit system.
