The Yampa Ranger District is located in the Routt National Forest in Yampa, Colorado, (27 miles from Steamboat Springs.) It is the southern-most district of the Medicine Bow-Routt Forest and has nearly 400,000 acres of varied terrain of sagebrush flats, forested mountains and alpine tundra, and includes the Flat Tops Wilderness, the Sarvis Wilderness and the Silver Creek Wilderness.
