Aspen Flats Loop

9/25/2024: This trail currently is not cleared and has an abundance of dead, fallen trees for several miles. It is undetermined when it will be cleared. 

This trail is accessed from the Dunckley Pass Winter Trails Trailhead. This is an easy 1.3 mile loop, averaging 1 hour in travel time. The gentle trail winds through a large aspen stand. The universal blue diamond designates the ski trails. All established trails are marked periodically with diamonds and stakes throughout the meadows.

An information board/map is located at the trailhead. Parking is available along the county road adjacent to the trailhead.


Directions:  The trailhead is 11 miles from Yampa by following County Road 17 to County Road 132; 10 miles from Oak Creek by following County Road 25 to County Road 132; and 8 miles from Phippsburg by following County Road 15 to County Road 132. From Steamboat Springs follow US 40 east to Hwy 131 south, proceed via Oak Creek, Phippsburg or Yampa.

From Steamboat Springs follow US 40 east to Hwy 131 south, proceed via Oak Creek, Phippsburg or Yampa.
