Big Creek-Holroyd Park Trailhead

This trailhead provides access to both the western and eastern portions of the Big Creek Trail (Trail 471). The Big Creek Trail is in a quiet area of the Medicine Bow National Forest in the Sierra Madre Range. The trail winds through mixed conifer, aspens, and willows as it follows Big Creek to the east. The trail is marked with tree blazes that can be difficult to see.  GPS units or a topographic map of the area is strongly recommended. Dispersed camping is not allowed within 300 feet of the trailhead, but is allowed along the trail as long as the camp is more than 100 feet from the trail, lakes, and streams. There are no restroom facilities at the trailhead. There are no nearby campgrounds or developed sites.  Please pack your trash out with you when you leave.
