Red Dirt Reservoir Recreation Area

Red Dirt Reservoir is located in the Gore Pass area off HWY134 on the Arapahoe National Forest.  It is approximately 40 miles east of Yampa between the towns of Yampa and Kremmling. Dispersed camping is allowed on FSR 100 and near the lake. There are no picnic tables, fire grates or trash service at the lake. Please pack out your trash.

The area was burned in 2018 by the Silver Creek Fire so visitors can expect to still see a burn scar. For your safety, please be aware of snags and do not camp under dead, burned trees.
