Eagle Rock and Observatory Rock Occupancy and Use Restriction
This order affects the South Park Ranger District.
The purpose of this order is for species protection pursuant to the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act (16 U.S.C. §§ 668-668d).

Forest Order
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a), the following act is prohibited on National Forest System lands within a ½ mile radius of Eagle Rock and Observatory Rock on the South Park Ranger District of the Pike National Forest, which are described in detail below and depicted on the attached map incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A. (the “Restricted Areas”).
1. Going into or being upon the Restricted Areas between January 1st and July 31st of each year. 36 C.F.R. § 261.53(a)
- Restricted activities include but are not limited to motorized use, non-motorized use, climbing, rappelling, shooting, hiking, fishing, kayaking, drone flying, and any and all other human or mechanical presence within the Restricted Areas.
