Forest Product Permits

Use this page to navigate permit information for each forest product available on the Pike-San Isabel National Forests & Cimarron and Comanche National Grasslands, including firewood, Christmas trees, transplants and post and poles. Please contact your nearest ranger district to check available permits, costs and associated terms and conditions. Online permits are not available at this time.

Special Use and Event Permits

Special use permits may be required for your commercial or noncommercial activity such as weddings, filming, photography, outfitters & guides and commercial events.

Recreation Residences

The Forest Service Recreation Residence program permits some single-family cabins on the national forest through a special use authorization.

Research and Other Permits

The U.S. Forest Service authorizes research special use permits on public lands. Like other short-term uses of National Forest System lands, conducting research requires a special use permit issued by the district ranger.

Looking for an off-highway vehicle (OHV) permit?

OHV permits are required and managed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Please review the Colorado Parks and Wildlife OHV permit webpage or give them a call at 719-227-5200 to learn more.

Looking for a fishing or hunting license?

Hunting and fishing licenses are required and can be purchased at Colorado Parks and Wildlife offices, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks offices and approved third-party vendors.
