Crescent Mining Camp

Travel back in time to the days of the mining boom at Crescent City Mining Camp on the outskirts of the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness near Rockdale, Colorado, at the intersection of County Road 390 and Forest Service Road 381. Clear Creek Canyon is a rich historical area. The Winfield townsite is only a few miles away.

This recreational opportunity will remain closed throughout the 2021 season.

Overnight Use:
$50 per night

$50 per night, one cabin sleeps four; the other cabin sleeps two.

Directions

From Buena Vista, Colorado, go about 15 miles north on Highway 24 towards Leadville. Turn west on County Road 390 at Clear Creek Reservoir. Go about 8 miles west on County Road 390. Turn left (south) onto Forest Road 381. The cabins are on the right.

Other Amenities

The cabins have been restored but provide no amenities. Visitors need to bring bedding, including cots as well as a cook stove. There is an outdoor fireplace and vault toilet. No drinking water is available.
