Homestake Fishing Site

This site, located at Rampart Reservoir, has interpretive exhibits, fishing access and a good view of Pikes Peak.

This site is open early May to early October, depending on weather conditions.

General Information

Early May to early October

Swimming, wading and all body contact with the water in the reservoir is PROHIBITED. Coast Guard-approved life jackets are required for every person onboard every watercraft, including kayaks, paddleboards and canoes.

There is a $11 per vehicle day use fee.

Dogs must be on a leash at all times.

Directions

From Colorado Springs, Colorado, travel west on Highway 24 for about 18 miles to Woodland Park. Turn north on Baldwin Street, which turns into Rampart Range Road. Go about 2 miles to turn right onto Loy Creek Road and then turn right onto Forest Road 300 (Rampart Range Road). Follow the signs. The Rampart Reservoir entrance is about 4 miles further on the left side of the road.

Limited parking is available right at the site; more parking is available at the boat dock area.

Water is available at the Promontory Picnic Area.
