North Salt Creek Trailhead

North Salt Creek Trailhead provides access to Buffalo Peaks Wilderness on Salt Creek Trail after skirting the southwestern boundary. Going northeast on Salt Creek Trail also skirts the outside boundary of the wilderness area, so mountain biking is authorized here.

Although the wilderness is open to foot traffic year-round, be aware that Forest Roads 432, 431, 433, 435 and 436 are seasonally closed for elk calving from January 1 - June 15.
