Twin Peaks Campground
Twin Peaks is a first-come, first-served campground with 35 sites located west of Twin Lakes Reservoir in a shaded aspen and lodgepole pine forest above the whitewater of Lake Creek. It sits at 9,600 feet with spectacular views of the Saguache (Sawatch) Range. The Continental Divide National Scenic Trail and Mount Elbert trails are in the nearby area.
High altitude sickness may occur at this altitude.
Reservations
This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site, if one is available.
General Information
The facility is generally open May through September. Opening and closing dates are weather dependent. Services such as water, trash or a host may not be available during early and late season.

The Interagency Senior Pass (previously known as the Golden Age Pass) and the Interagency Access Pass qualifies for a 50% discount at concessionaire run campsites. The discount only applies to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass owner, not to any additional campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass owner's party.
The following restrictions apply to this campground:
- A maximum of eight people is allowed per site.
- A maximum of three tents or one recreational vehicle (RV) and two tents is allowed per site.
- Dogs must be leashed at all times.
- No discharge of firearms or fireworks is allowed.
- Only licensed vehicles can operate inside the campground.
- Camping is not allowed behind a locked gate.
$28 nightly fee per site for overnight camping, which includes two vehicles. A third vehicle is an additional $11 per night. RVs and ATV/boat trailers count as one vehicle.
Fees are payable by cash, check or money order. A self-service fee tube is available.
First-come, first-served sites must be occupied the first night.
Dogs must be leashed at all times.

From Leadville, go 15 miles south on U.S. Highway 24, then west on Colorado Highway 82 past Twin Lakes Reservoir and Twin Lakes Village.
