Big Springs Picnic Area
Big Springs Picnic area has 1 group site and 3 single sites--including picnic tables, restroom, and fire grates. Set in a small glade with a stream emerging from a rock wall, the site is a hidden gem on the Saguache Ranger District.
General Information
It is recommended that water from the stream be purified before consuming.
The site may not be reachable by vehicle due to snow and seasonal road closures from March 15th to May 15th. Camping is not allowed at the picnic area, but several dispersed camping and regular campgrounds are located close by.
Open year round.
Day use only.
No camping is allowed at the picnic area or in the parking lot. There are several dispersed camping locations and regular campgrounds located nearby the site.
No Fees are required for this site.
Dogs must be on leash not longer than six feet in length.
