Pursuant to 16 United States Code (U.S.C.) § 551 and 36 Code of Federal Regulations (C.F.R.) § 261.50(a), the following act is (U.S.C.) § prohibited within the White River National Forest, on the Dillon Ranger District, in Summit County, in the State of Colorado, herein after referred to as the Restricted Area. The Restricted Area is depicted on the attached map, hereby incorporated in this Order as Exhibit A
This Order is necessary to protect environmental resources from damage related to camping
PROHIBITIONS:
• Camping within ¼ mile of the Montezuma Road (County Road 6) between the communities of Keystone and Montezuma. 36 C.F.R. § 261.58 (e)
• Building, maintaining, attending, or using a fire, campfire, or stove fire. 36 C.F.R. § 261.52 (a)
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:
1) Any Federal, State or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force engaged in the performance of an official duty;
2) Persons with a Forest Service permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
This Order will be in effect until rescinded, or until December 31, 2025 whichever event occurs first.
