Most roads and trails are closed to wheeled vehicles to protect the snow base. Contact the Ranger District you plan to visit for specific questions and on-the-ground updates.

Winter Motor Vehicle Use Maps  (MVUMs) are free and available online and at White River National Forest offices. These maps show forest areas that are designated as open, closed, or restricted to motorized and mechanized vehicles. Summer MVUMs also include seasonal closures. It is your responsibility to know where you can go, and the MVUM is your key resource.
