There are currently no fire-related closures on the White River National Forest. The latest information about Forest closures and other orders is available here.

All ranger districts within the White River National Forest will move from Stage 2 to Stage 1 fire restrictions Sept 11, 2026. This includes the Dillon Ranger District.

Under Stage 1 restrictions, campfires are allowed if they are in the permanent fire rings in developed campgrounds or recreation areas. Wood burning stoves used in wall tents are allowed under Stage 1 restrictions if they have a spark arrester and meet other conditions detailed here. 

As of April 10, the White River National Forest has no planned prescribed fires.
