Big Marvine Peak #2258

The Big Marvine Peak Trail is 1.7 miles long. It begins at East Marvine Trail #1822 and ends at the summit of Big Marvine Peak within Flat Tops Wilderness. The trail switchbacks up the steep north side of Big Marvine Peak, climbing to the eastern point and its nearly vertical 200' drop. The trail then heads west on relatively flat terrain to the 11,879' summit on the west end of the peak.

Access to the Big Marvine Peak Trail is located 35 miles east of Meeker, CO.

From Meeker, take Colorado Highway 13 east for 1 mile, then turn east on Rio Blanco County Road 8 and follow this for 28 miles. Turn south at Fritzlans' Guest Ranch, cross the bridge and turn east on Rio Blanco County Road 12. Follow this 6 miles to the Marvine Trailhead parking area. Domestic cattle may be grazing in the area. Follow East Marvine Trail #1822 to Big Marvine Peak Trail #2258.
